Latina Accelerate with Google Event

The Google Latina Small Business Workshop and Feedback Session. Latina Accelerate with Google Event! The Latina Accelerate with Google Event was a great opportunity to interact and network with various Small Latina owned businesses.  There was a large group of smart motivated Latina women expecting to learn more about Google’s products and services. We experienced a welcoming relaxed atmosphere and had  the opportunity to introduce ourselves, share our own online business experiences and gave feed backs. At the workshop we met Social Lens researcher Julie Diaz-Asper and the Google team; Lucy Pinto the program manage for Diversity and Daniela Natal Google Agency Account Strategist proceeded with this exciting workshop presentation.  And at the end of the workshop we grabbed a few bites, we networked and provided feedback on how they can help minorities owned businesses. The most exciting part of the workshop! During the workshop we learned that there are a really large number of businesses from underrepresented communities that aren’t online.  Which limits the growth in today’s online economy. So Google decided to do something about that by launching the Accelerate with Google Academy, a 12-week intensive program that teaches business owners how to be found and generate business on the web. To date, the program has generated over $13M in annualized economic impact for participants. We also learned about the Equipping suppliers with training and opportunities A diverse supplier products and services for Googlers and for Google users.  The Small Business Supplier Diversity Program is designed to connect more minority-, women-, veteran- and LGBT-owned small businesses to opportunities within Google.  They also aim to equip these businesses with the tools and resources they need so they can be successful working with any company.  You can learn more and apply at g.co/supplierdiversity. There is just this incredible energy and momentum when you are around a diverse group of women that are eagle to learn about opportunities and new experiences that can help them grow and meet their business goals.  Bravo! Google for taking this initiative to help improve our business relations and communities.
